Discover ancient mist-covered rainforests, wild savannahs, thunderous waterfalls, and unforgettable primate encounters in Uganda's world-class national parks.
"The Ultimate Gorilla Experience"
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, covering approximately 331 sq km, is located in south-western Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. As one of Africa’s most ancient and biologically diverse rainforests—dating back over 25,000 years—this mist-covered jungle shelters over 400 plant species and provides refuge to endangered wildlife.
Most famously, Bwindi protects nearly 500 mountain gorillas—almost half of the world's remaining population. An eye-to-eye encounter with these magnificent primates in their natural habitat is widely considered the most poignant and thrilling wildlife experience in Africa.
"The Primate Capital of The World"
Kibale National Park is renowned for its extraordinary primate diversity, featuring the famous Kanyanchu Primate Walk as its flagship experience. Considered the most magnificent tropical rainforest in Uganda, Kibale protects 13 distinct species of primates including the localized Red Colobus, L'Hoest's monkeys, and the endemic Uganda Mangabey.
The primary highlight is trekking delightful wild chimpanzees—our closest living genetic relatives. Situated near Fort Portal and the tranquil Ndali-Kasenda crater area, Kibale also features a 180km wildlife corridor hosting elusive forest elephants, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, and over 300 bird species.
"The World’s Greatest Waterfall"
First gazetted in 1926, Murchison Falls is Uganda’s oldest and largest national park. Positioned at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley, the park is famous for the dramatic spectacle where the mighty River Nile forces its way through an 8-meter narrow gorge before plunging 45 meters with a thunderous roar into the "Devil’s Cauldron."
The park's open savanna, Borassus palm forests, and River Nile banks offer exceptional game drives and boat cruises where Rothschild giraffes, elephants, lions, Nile crocodiles, and hippos assemble in vast numbers.
"True African Wilderness"
Spanning 1,442 sq km in the remote Karamoja region bordering South Sudan and Kenya, Kidepo Valley is an untouched, rugged paradise. Dominated by the 2,750m Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus sand rivers, it provides unmatched solitude and breathtaking big game viewing.
Kidepo hosts 77 mammal species and almost 476 bird species. Even in the dry season, taking a walking safari along the 50-meter-wide white sandbed of the seasonal Kidepo River lined with Borassus palms is an unforgettable frontier adventure.
"A Medley of Wonders"
Founded in 1952, Queen Elizabeth National Park boasts incredible ecological diversity, from sprawling savannas and humid forests to dramatic explosion crater lakes and fertile wetlands. Set against the backdrop of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, it is home to classic Big Four game, 10 primate species, and over 600 bird species.
Highlights include launch cruises along the Kazinga Channel packed with hippos and elephants, as well as game drives in the southern Ishasha sector to search for legendary tree-climbing lions resting in fig tree branches.
